July 2025 — An Action-Packed Start

Last month, I introduced our theme for this year: Writing the next chapter. If that's our year, than this month — July — is that page-turning, action-packed start of the story. Things are getting real, and fast, and you're trying to keep up... but you're still trying to learn all the character's names! But the only thing to do is to keep on turning those pages...

For me, July feels like that crazy start to a book because July is crazy. July means no routines — my kids are bouncing in and out of camp, we’re squeezing in family travel, and I’m juggling speaking work in between trying to figure out if we have any clean pool towels.

It’s chaotic. It’s joyful. It’s loud. And it’s definitely not the season for structure.

I used to try and tame this season — to calendar it, color-code it, organize it. But it didn't work. And — of course not! Adding scaffolding to sand doesn’t make much sense.

Summer is Sand

Summer is sand! It's shifting all the time, and it's hard to put structure into place on shifting sands. So in summer, I do my best to embrace the ebb and flow. I’m outlining keynotes in the comfort of AC, yes — but I’m also eating popsicles on the porch and making memories that don’t fit neatly into a planner.

I'm applying that same mindset to my business right now — I'm okay with exploring, with taking things a few days at a time, and acknowledging that I can do a lot of things but I can't do everything

If you’re in the messy middle of your summer chapter, too — I see you. And I invite you to take a breath, lean into the heat, and trust that cooler days (and, for me, school-year schedules!) are on the horizon.

July Opportunities to Get Involved

Earlier this month, I had the privilege of attending the Marketing Committee Interest Meeting — and wow. Over a dozen people showed up, full of ideas, energy, and enthusiasm. It was inspiring to see the leadership of our VP of Marketing, Sharon Delaney McCloud, in action — and even more inspiring to see so many ready-to-go volunteers excited to support our chapter's marketing initiatives.

And we’re just getting started. We’ve got two more Committee Interest Meetings coming up: Membership on July 15 and Programs on July 24. If you’ve been looking for a way to get more from your NSA Carolinas membership — to connect, to contribute, to collaborate — these are golden opportunities. Check out our Upcoming Events page for more information!

Come be part of the story we’re writing together, with the speakers and thought leaders who make this chapter so great.

Cheers to YOUR July!

Here’s to whatever summer looks like for you — whether it's sun-soaked or just slightly chaotic. I hope it's full of story.

June 2025

NSA Carolinas, I am so excited to be writing to you as your Chapter President!

As my first official act of president business, please allow me to share a big, huge, GIGANTIC thank you to our Immediate Past President, Larry Long, Jr. (the one and only!). Watching him this past year, as he led the 2024-2025 Board, was such a learning experience — I was endlessly amazed by the way he supported with joy, genuine connection, and authenticity. While I can't hope to fill his shoes, I can say how excited I am to carry his legacy of member service and relationship building forward into our next year.

I'm also excited to talk with you about the 2025-2026 theme, which I had a chance to talk about a little bit at the Annual Meeting — Writing the Next Chapter.

Theme: Writing the Next Chapter

NSA Carolinas has a rich history — over 40 years of building community, raising the bar for excellence, and supporting speakers and thought leaders across the Carolinas. We’re one of the most established chapters in the country, with a legacy of impact and connection that spans decades. And the best is yet to come.

This year, our theme is Writing the Next Chapter — a reflection of where we’ve been and a rallying cry for where we’re going.

We’re entering this chapter with fresh ideas, new voices, and bold questions about how to best serve our members in a rapidly evolving world of speaking and thought leadership. AND, we honor the foundation built by those who came before us, while embracing the energy, innovation, and leadership that’s guiding us forward.

This is a time to recommit to what matters most — real connection, meaningful growth, and a clear path to impact.

Whether you’re a new member finding your footing or a longtime pro charting your next move, this year is for you. Together, we’ll write a chapter that’s not just reflective — but visionary. One that celebrates our community, elevates our craft, and sets the stage for the story still to come.

What's to Expect in July

Over the next month, we're going to be loud and proud about our Interest Meetings. Our chapter has three volunteer-led committees (Programs, Membership, and Marketing), and these committees do incredible work for our chapter while having a lot of fun and learning together. I encourage you to consider attending one of these interest meetings so you can learn more about our chapter and the exciting ways you can get involved.

The Interest Meetings are listed on our Upcoming Events page.

See You in August!

We're excited to resume our popular Second Saturday events, our exciting Speaker Development Series (3rd Wednesday) virtual calls, and more, starting in August. Go ahead and mark your calendar for those (find more details in our Upcoming Events page), and stay tuned for additional event announcements related to our retreats, our 2025 Speaker Academy, and even more. We can't WAIT to see you soon!

Rooting for YOU, Always!

One of the greatest joys about being in the NSA Carolinas chapter is seeing all the wins — all the hard work we're pouring into our businesses, the clients and audiences we're connecting with, the impact we're making — we are so, so excited to continue rooting for you. Reach out if there's anything we can do to support YOU! For more encouragement, make sure you're following us on social media — and tag us in your big updates, that way we can celebrate you in a big way 🫶
