Larry Long, Jr: President
Larry enthusiastically served NSA Carolinas this past year as President-elect, after previously serving as Vice President Programming and did a fantastic job serving as Dean of Speaker Academy, while also planning and delivering high-value programs to our members. Larry is also involved and networked at NSA on a national level and always bringing extraordinary ideas and speakers back to NSA Carolinas. Larry has been a Professional Speaker/Emcee since 2020 (started at beginning of the pandemic…say, WHAT!?!?). Dr. Sarah Glova: President-elect
Sarah is not new to the board as she recently served as VP of Member Engagement. We’re thrilled to leverage her talented skill sets to further enhance the membership experience for all NSA members. Sarah is the CEO of Reify Media, an award-winning elearning firm that recently celebrated 10 years in business, as well as a writer for WRAL TechWire and a guest lecturer at NC State University. Dr. Kevin Snyder, CSP: Past President
Kevin has twice led the NSA Carolinas Speaker Academy and has served the chapter as Vice President Programming, President-Elect and President. Kevin has been speaking professionally for nearly two decades and has presented in all 50 states and several countries. He's a multi-TEDx speaker, best-selling author and former Dean of Students at High Point University. He earned the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation from NSA in 2023 and was the only speaker in the world who earned the Accredited Speaker (AS) designation from Toastmasters International in 2022. Todd Neal: Vice President of Finance, Treasurer
Experienced Specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the restaurant, hospitality and insurance industry. Tara Brown: Vice President of Marketing
Tara Brown, winner of the Jeanne Robertson “Comedy with Class” Humor Competition is a Humorist, Keynote Speaker and Corporate Emcee known for her clean, family-friendly comedy. With a passion for entertaining diverse audiences, Tara has performed for corporations, associations, and non-profits. Mike Rabinowitz: Vice President of Membership
Mike will be a new addition to the Board as he begins his 3rd full year with NSA Carolinas. His willingness to get involved, volunteer and serve on a sub-committee is just a few reasons why he will be a perfect fit. Mike has a varied past which includes a New York City Police Officer, Computer IT Guy, and 18 years as a Communication Skills Trainer. He has taken all that experience to create the Street Corner Approach. Mike speaks to organizations to help them take responsibility and ownership of their communication skills. Mary Elizabeth Murphy: Vice President of Programming
With nearly 30 years of experience working directly with clients, Mary Elizabeth is a reliable, results-driven expert in team dynamics, development, and cohesion. As CEO and owner of S.T.A.R. Resources and author of RESET Your Buttons, she has been teaching the skills to earn more, achieve more, and produce more since 1993. Enhancing interpersonal relationships and increasing effectiveness and productivity in the workplace is her passion. Encouraging women in leadership in the workplace is another of her passions. The Small Business Administration awarded Mary Elizabeth the NC Women in Business Champion of the Year for her commitment to the advancement of women’s business ownership. At-Large: John Edwards, CSP, CSV
John has been a member of NSA for 25+ years and has served in a number of leadership roles in various chapters, including starting one of NSAs first ever virtual chapters. He’ll be continuing on the NSA Carolinas Board in a role that allows the chapter to leverage and utilize a wide variety of his expertise. John helps organizations and teams get rapid results, especially during times of constant change. He enjoys talking to audiences using humor and storytelling to facilitate insights and learning that accelerate their success. John has held leadership roles with a few Fortune 100 companies including Lockheed Martin and Time Warner.
