Message from dr. Kevin Snyder, CSP (NSA Carolinas PRESIDENT)

Reasons to be PROUD of your NSA Carolinas membership!

As I reflect on my term as President of NSA Carolinas, I am filled with immense gratitude and pride. Alongside our entire Board crew, serving this remarkable chapter and community of professional speakers has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

Our theme this year, "Rise the Tide," truly embodies our collective journey as speakers. We have lifted each other up, understanding that a rising tide lifts all boats. We have navigated the waters and our sails have kept us on course. This resilience is a testament to the strength and spirit of our community and purpose.

I am especially proud of the culture and connection our chapter has fostered and I know will continue to do so in the future. Our vibrant, supportive environment is a place where each of us can authentically share, grow and thrive.

A few 'RISING TIDE REFLECTIONS' to be proud about:

     * For the 1st time ever, NSA Carolinas became an "Elite Chapter" which recognizes us as one of the strongest chapters.  Granted, it was the 1st year they provided this recognition for any chapter, but regardless we'll take it!  :)  Special thank you to most recent Past President Mike Mooney as well as all Past Presidents for paving the way to make this accomplishment happen!

     * NSA Carolinas membership has grown from a respectful 57 members in 2022 to an extraordinary 135 members in 2024!  (and counting!)  View our members here and New Members here!

     *  To our knowledge, our membership dues are the lowest in the country!

     *  Our chapter is one of the largest chapters in the NSA family & has more CSP and CPAE members than most any other chapter  :) 

     *  Forty-three(43) of our members attended INFLUENCE last year, one of the largest chapter representations in the country.

     *  We hosted 33 events this past year ... wow!  Just look at them and the amazing topics we've covered!

     *  Hosted our first-ever chapter event in South Carolina and it was an amazing success!

     *   For the 1st time ever, we hosted a 2-day retreat in Wilmington, NC to help our members launch into 2024 with 'FEARLESSLY CLEAR' speaking goals!  Thanks to Board Member Dr. Sarah Glova (incoming President-Elect) for facilitating!

     *  For the 1st time ever, we partnered with AENC (Association Executives NC) and MPI Carolinas (Meeting Professionals International) ... more to come!

     *  We launched Specialty Interest Group (SIG) Meetings focused on specific topic areas in the speaking business

     *  At least 6 of our members landed TEDx talks!  Dozens of members published books!

     *  For the first time, we created Quarterly Mastermind Sessions and Monthly Mentoring Cohorts!

     *  Our 2023 Speaker Academy was an amazing success once again!  SHOUT OUT to President-Elect Larry Long Jr for leading our Speaker Academy!

    *  Our 2023 Week of Speaker LOVE was INCREDIBLE!!  To our knowledge, we are the only chapter in the country hosting a full week of programming during Valentines week!  Each one of these events was it's own in-depth program for our members.  Thank you Larry Long Jr once again!

     *  We created the inaugural "Jeanne Robertson Award for Excellence" which will be awarded during our upcoming Awards Banquet.  

     *  We worked with eSpeakers to provide a FREE membership profile for every NSA Carolinas to help them book speaking engagements. (check it out here)

     *  Our 'Chapter History" was organized so we know where we've been ... thank you to all previous leaders who paved our path!

     *  Our website was overhauled and improved!  There's a LOT going on  ;)  (check out our new FAQ page here as well as our Members-only page here!)

     *  Our social media impressions consistently were ranked higher than any other chapter and usually NSA National!

     *  We created a Mascot named "Mic" and a drip campaign to empower members in taking advantage of the incredible resources we provide.

     *  We explored ways to showcase and celebrate the great work our members are doing.  Visit our Membership page to view!

As my presidency comes to a close at the upcoming Awards Banquet, I am confident that NSA Carolinas will continue to sail towards new horizons. Under the enthusiastic leadership helm of Larry Long Jr, the incoming Board team is poised to continue "rising the tide" to further build on our achievements and explore new opportunities for growth and impact. I encourage each of you to stay engaged, share your unique voice, and support one another in our incredible journey as speakers and problem solvers.

I also invite you to join us for the final voyage at our upcoming Awards Banquet and Chapter Program on June 14 and 15. We have an exciting program planned with two fabulous keynote speakers, and only 6 tickets remain at the time I write this, so register ASAP!   #FOMO

Thank you for your trust, collaboration, and friendship. It has been an honor to serve you and our Board. I look forward to continuing our journey together as a fellow crew member of this extraordinary ship as PAST Captain and Cruise Director  :)
